Wirral Met College is delighted to announce a new partnership with InnovateHer.

InnovateHer’s vision is to get girls ready for the tech industry, and the industry ready for girls. As a values-led social enterprise, they equip girls with the self-belief and skills to pursue a career in technology through educational programmes and working with digital and tech companies to create inclusive workplaces for them to work within.

This exciting partnership will help Wirral Met attract diverse students to apply for courses, as well as giving current students the opportunity become ambassadors of InnovateHer, inspiring young people into tech. Only 19% of the digital tech workforce in the UK is female, compared to 37% across all sectors. It’s proven that the gender gap costs the tech sector time and money, but it also contributes to the challenges we have sourcing talent and widens the digital skills gap.

The new partnership will highlight the vast careers in the digital technology sectors, tackle gender stereotypes and remove barriers to help students from all backgrounds consider careers in STEM.

Chelsea Slater, Co-founder and Director of InnovateHer, said: "We're delighted to be partnering with Wirral College through our IncludeHer package. College is an important next step for our students, so through this partnership, we will showcase and explore courses that our students may want to consider, to pursue their careers within technology. The team can't wait to get started.”
