Due to its phenomenal success over the last few years, the Supported Internships programme has expanded and the number of host employers has increased year on year.

Take a look at some of our success stories from the Supported internships programme.

Supported Internships are programmes that offer students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, aged 16-24, the opportunity to gain practical work-based learning experience, providing a smooth transition from education to paid employment and further study.

Students on the internships spend three days per week in their work placement and one day per week at College, for one academic year, and, at the end of the programme, students will achieve a recognised “skills for employment” qualification. Work on some of the placements has included administration, catering and retail duties.
